Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Daycast, operated by Barış Peksak in the Republic of Türkiye (“Daycast”, “we”, “us”), collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Daycast website and mobile apps (the “Service”).

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address (and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, your name and profile image). Authentication is handled by Supabase.
  • Listening activity. We record which episodes you play, your playback position, and whether you finished an episode — so you can resume where you left off and so we can understand which episodes resonate.
  • Feedback. If you rate an episode (a thumbs up or down) we store your rating and any reason you select.
  • Pilot research. If you apply to a limited pilot, we store your email, role, tools, work and listening habits, recent tooling decision, campaign source, pilot feedback, and any optional paid-beta intent or start date you provide. Recording paid intent does not create a purchase.
  • Usage and diagnostics. We collect product-analytics events (for example, that an episode was played) through PostHog, and error and crash diagnostics through Sentry, to keep the Service working and improve it.

We do not use advertising networks, we do not sell your information, and we do not track you across other apps or websites or use device advertising identifiers (such as Apple’s IDFA).

How we use your information

  • Provide and operate the Service, including resuming playback across your devices.
  • Manage your account and your access to the Service.
  • Understand engagement and improve our episodes and features.
  • Determine pilot eligibility and evaluate product, retention, and pricing hypotheses.
  • Diagnose problems, maintain security, and prevent abuse.
  • Send you essential account and service messages.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run Daycast, and only as needed to operate the Service: Supabase (authentication and database), Apple and Google (app distribution and push notifications), Cloudflare (audio storage and delivery), Vercel (hosting), PostHog (analytics), and Sentry (error monitoring). We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Delete account) or by emailing us. Deleting your account permanently removes your account, your listening history, linked pilot responses, and your feedback from our active systems. If you joined a pilot without creating an account, email us from the address you used to request deletion. Limited records may persist briefly in backups or where retention is required by law.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can manage your email from your profile, delete your account in-app, or contact us to exercise any of these rights — we will not discriminate against you for doing so.

Daycast is operated from the Republic of Türkiye and handles personal data in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK, Law No. 6698). If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom you may also have rights under the GDPR / UK GDPR, and if you are a California resident, under the CCPA — contact us at the address below to exercise them.

Security

We protect your data in transit with encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and rely on reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard safeguards.

Children’s privacy

Daycast is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA and UK), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

International users

We are based in the Republic of Türkiye and process data in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service you consent to this processing.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the effective date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
